Since 2023 Three Rivers have supported young people to create their own Wanderlust Hill youth zone at the annual Thamesmead Festival, where they have showcased the best young London talent to crowds of over 18,000 people, and received national coverage from the BBC and ITV.
Artists who have performed on our stage include Saïna, KdoubleM, Paradox, Tanum Sound System, Breakup Haircut, Ashley Tragic, Taite Imogen, Huru, Lavz and local legend, Jabz.
We are now looking for six young people aged 11 - 18 and based in the London Borough of Bexley to DJ on the Wanderlust Hill stage at this year's festival on the 2nd August 2025.
In July 2025 you will attend a 1-day DJ workshop led by Tanum Sound System where you will be supported to develop your mixing and beat matching skills, and build your confidence behind the decks, before performing a 30-minute live set at the festival in front of a real audience.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
To apply you must be between 11 and 18 years old and live, work or study in the London Borough of Bexley.
No professional or educational experience is required, just a commitment to attend the DJ workshop and perform at the Festival.
We want to include a broad range of experiences and perspectives so whatever your background, we’re interested in you!
WHAT IT WILL INVOLVE
If you are selected, you must be able to attend the following;
- A 1-day DJ workshop on the week commencing 7th July (date TBC) with Tanum Sound System in Thamesmead.
- 10:00am - 6:00pm, Saturday 2 August - Wanderlust Hill Stage at Thamesmead Festival 2025, Southmere Park, Thamesmead SE2 9XA
HOW YOU WILL BE SUPPPORTED
Each DJ will receive support from lead artist Rosie Ridgway and members of Tanum Sound System.
Tanum Sound System is based in London, UK with a focus on underground electronic music. Where possible they aim to make sessions either free, or to raise funds and awareness for projects supporting marginalised people and campaigning against injustice.
You will also receive a Creative Maintenance Allowance (CMA) to cover time to attend the workshops, perform at the festival, and some time in between to create your playlist and practice The total CMA amount for each role is £70.00. This is calculated as £13.85 per hour (London Living Wage) x 5 hours between July and August 2025.
