Since 2023, Three Rivers have supported The South East Way youth collective to plan, programme, design and manage their own Wanderlust Hill Stage at the annual Thamesmead Festival, where they have showcased the best young London talent to crowds of over 16,000 people, and received national coverage from the BBC and ITV.
Artists who have performed on our stage include Saïna, KdoubleM, Paradox, Tanum Sound System, Breakup Haircut, Ashley Tragic, Taite Imogen, Huru, Lavz and local legend, Jabz.
We are now looking for young people aged 11 - 18 and based in the London Borough of Bexley to join The South East Way youth collective and take on a number of specific roles within the team as we work together to create our most ambitious festival yet in August 2025.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
To apply you must be between 11 and 18 years old and live, work or study in the London Borough of Bexley.
No professional or educational experience is required, just a commitment to share your ideas, knowledge and skills, work as part of a team and get stuck in.
We want to include a broad range of experiences and perspectives so whatever your background, we’re interested in you!
THE ROLES
You can apply for ONE of the following roles;
Music Programmer
As our Music Programmer, you will be responsible for researching new music and dance acts and working with the rest of the team to programme an exciting line-up for the Wanderlust Hill stage that showcases young London talent.
Artist Liaison
As our Artist Liaison, you will be responsible for looking after the artists before they perform by ensuring they all receive accreditation, welcome packs and food vouchers, as well as coordinating their interviews and photoshoots.
MC
As our MC, you will be responsible for introducing all of the performers on stage and ensuring a smooth transition between acts, as well as setting the overall tone of the Wanderlust Hill stage by talking to the audience, providing information about the line-up, and thanking performers and sponsors.
Social Media Assistant
As our Social Media Assistant, you will be responsible for creating a social media schedule, writing and editing content and scheduling posts, as well as helping with media outreach to ensure that as many people as possible know about the Wanderlust Hill Stage.
Graphic Designer
As our Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for creating the visual identity of both print and digital assets that could include posters, banners, flyers, newsletters and social media posts that help communicate the Wanderlust HIll stage to a wide variety of people.
Photographer/Videographer
As our Photographer/Videographer, you will be responsible for documenting the festival and organising shoots with the performers, as well as capturing behind-the-scenes as The South East Way plan and programme their stage in the lead up to the festival.
WHAT IT WILL INVOLVE
If you are selected for one of the above roles you will be expected to attend the following;
- The Wanderlust Hill Stage at Thamesmead Festival 2025 takes place 10:00 am - 6:00 pm on Saturday 02 August 2025
- Six 2-hour creative workshops with lead artist, Rosie Ridgway, taking place in Thamesmead at the following times;
- 5:00 - 7:00pm, Wednesday, 26 February 2025 - Thamesmead (Venue TBC)
- 5:00 - 7:00pm, Wednesday, 26 March 2025 - Online
- 5:00 - 7:00pm, Wednesday, 30 April 2025 -Thamesmead
- 5:00 - 7:00pm, Wednesday, 28 May 2025 - Online
- 5:00 - 7:00pm, Wednesday, 25 June 2025 -Thamesmead
- 5:00 - 7:00pm, Wednesday, 30 July 2025 - Thamesmead
- Two 1-hour online mentoring sessions - Dates to be agreed with participants
HOW YOU WILL BE SUPPPORTED
Each young person will receive support from the core team of;
Rosie Ridgway - Lead Artist
Scott Burrell - Director, Three Rivers
Shaun Coombs - Executive Producer, Thamesmead Festival
Alongside this, you will also be paired up with a professional mentor who has experience of the role you will be doing and can offer advice and guidance.
You will also receive a Creative Maintenance Allowance (CMA) to cover time to attend the workshops, mentoring sessions and some time in between to meet the responsibilities associated with your role.
The total CMA amount for each role is £484.75. This is calculated as £13.85 per hour (London Living Wage) x 5 hours per month between February and August 2025.
