Tump 39: Community Compost Toilet Build with Compost Mentis (Day 1)

Join us in the unique urban wilderness that is Tump 39 in Thamesmead for a weekend of practical workshops and hand-on activities where you'll learn about compostong and soil care, aswell co-designing and building a new compost toilet for the site with soil and alternative sanitation co-op, Compost Mentis.

A free meal will also be provided by local food legends, Chef Yogi's!

This event is FREE and all are welcome, but under 16's should be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Spaces are limited and booking is essential.

TUMP 39 is a long-term project working with people living in North Thamesmead, and beyond, to re-imagine a re-wilded former Victorian munitions magazine as a new creative community space for arts and ecology.

There is NO onsite parking so please ensure that you can arrive on foot, by bike or public transport.

This workshop is not fully accessible for people with different mobilities.

The terrain is mainly flat, but there will be some stony ground, small inclines, and uneven grasslands.

The site is outdoor with limited shelter and can become muddy after rain, so please wear appropriate shoes and clothing. We also recommend bringing water or another drink.
